The most asked question to any blogger by hundreds of people. I remember when I first started blogging people were like “How to make money blogging?”. It is very difficult to explain this to people individually. This is the reason I am writing this article today.
Before starting the article, just a little warning – This is no formula which I am going to mention here, it is just a summary of the things I have done and currently doing for running my blog and travel almost every month to different destination. This doesn’t happen overnight, and if you are thinking about this as an easy formula this is going to be disappointing for you.
Make money blogging for beginners is very interesting and yet a very boring thing to read about. Yes, you heard it right, it is very boring and I have read around almost 100 articles about it before starting my blog. Maybe, reading those articles was my biggest mistake ever.
Don’t get me wrong they were informative but I didn’t understand even a single thing about it. You know why? It was because I was focusing on the money part. You should never focus on the money part before starting anything. It is like I want to become a millionaire but I don’t know what to do for it. Crazy right?
Let’s start from step 1.
Now, before thinking about how you can make money blogging, think about why should you make money blogging?
After you get the answer to this question, the rest of the journey is quite easy.
The first thing you need before starting a blog is motivation. A big fat motivation, which no one can teach you, no one can force on you, it has to be only you. I will try to give you a little motivation.
I am just going to compare two types of lives for you.
A Normal person with a job
– For 40 years, spends around 1,15,200 hours of his life in the same office.
– Has to obey a person who he barely knows for 8 hours every day.
– Earns a lot of money, but no time to spend it.
– Robotic Life.
A Digital Nomad/Blogger
– For 40 years can live in around 80+ countries.
– Can work according to your timetable.
– Has lots of time to spend the money he/she earns.
– Life is full of epic adventures.
– Travels the world.
The main difference between both lifestyles is freedom. If you think the job life is better for you, it is totally fine and you don’t need to change it for the sake of others. Any lifestyle you choose, satisfaction is the main thing you need.
Something about me –
I never want to do any job in my life ever. The only job I want is the one where I get to choose the things I want to do.
You know my college staff played a very big role in making me realize that I can never work for anyone.
For the past 4 years, I have continuously heard the following things
– This assignment has to be submitted in the next two days.
– This sheet should be drawn differently.
– After this date, no submission will be taken.
– Now it is late, come tomorrow for submissions.
– Bring your parents tomorrow.
These things made me realize that no, I cannot do this. I am not the type of guy who can stand people ordering me to do certain things in a given time. I need my own time and want to work for myself rather than a random guy of random company. I decided and promised myself that I will never give my resume in any company ever. One of my teachers literally used to ask me to submit my resume for I don’t know how many times. Every time I used to tell him “Sir, next Friday”. Till today I didn’t give him my resume, not for troubling him or anything but I didn’t want to break the one most important promise of my life. Sir, if you are reading this, I’m sorry.
Good Plus Bad Thing
4 years of civil engineering and I still don’t know the difference between cement and concrete. And you know what, I am proud of it. I learned the most important thing during these years which made me a digital nomad rather than a working robot. Earlier, I used to bunk lectures and do research about traveling, digital jobs, etc. But I realized soon enough that it was a bad idea. The less my attendance the more trouble I used to get in.
Even though you are bunking your classes for some work, you cannot tell your staff that you have some other work. They will never listen and as a matter of fact, they shouldn’t.
A Little Change.
I changed my way a little bit. I used to sit in the class and do my research, this way my attendance used to be good and my work was also done. You know the saying, “Don’t trouble your teachers and they will do the same.”
Thanks to all the teaching staff. You all are awesome. If not for you and your strictness I would have been a robot and just walk, talk, work, sleep, repeat every day. Thanx a lot.
The only reason for mentioning the above story was for you to get some motivation before starting on any blogs or any online business. These things really take a lot of hard work and you have no guarantee that you will succeed or not. The simple answer here is if you start thinking about money rather than your passion then you have around 70% chances of failure and if you keep your passion as your priority your chance of failure is around 30%. Make sure you pick a topic which you can talk about constantly for the next 30 years and still not get bored.
It definitely takes time but you can surely succeed and it is not some impossible task. If I can then anyone can. If you want to be a blogger don’t worry about how to write, I don’t know about writing and I am not a good writer. You know what, no one is good from the beginning you have to develop a skill to support another. I was the laziest person when it came to writing anything. Even in the essay writing competitions in school, I used to write about my home every time. So, if a person like me can become a blogger than anyone can.
Now, Step 2.
How to make money blogging for beginners?
There are two main factors when it comes to making money blogging.
Both are equally important for your blog to reach a point of earning any income.
After starting a blog, you have to have good traffic on your website before starting earning money.
This is a very simple concept and I won’t go in any detail regarding this.
Talking about monetization,
If you want to start blogging then keep in mind that you cannot rely on just one source of income, you have to have multiple sources of income.
The incomes sources are as follows.
1) Google AdSense.
2) Affiliate Marketing.
3) Selling your own products.
4) Exchange of services.
There are many other ways but as a beginner, you need to be familiar with these 3 ways of monetization.
Google AdSense/Placing Ads on your website.
This is according to personal preference. This basically means that you are allowing a little space on your website for placing ads and whenever someone clicks on the ads you get some commission for it.
I personally never use this on my website because it makes my site look a little ugly. This is totally dependent on you whether you want ads on your website or not.
The pay you get from Google AdSense is around $2 to $20 for 1000 views.
As a beginner, this would be your main source of income while starting.
What is affiliate marketing?
It is basically selling other people’s products and getting a little commission for them. Don’t worry the people who are going to buy from your affiliate link won’t be charged anything extra. They will pay a regular amount and you will get a small cut from the product developer.
As a beginner, your main affiliate source would be Amazon Associates.
You can place Amazon products on your website and whenever someone buys that product you will get a commission from Amazon.
This is the best way to earn some starting money from your blog. But make sure you include the product related to your blogging topic and not anything random. Build a connection with your readers and you will surely earn money from Amazon Associates.
They are many bloggers who earn around $5,000 to $10,000 just from affiliate marketing.
Selling your own products.
This is the next step after Affiliate marketing.
Say for e.g. you have listed a travel eBook that cost around $10 on Amazon. You are getting a commission of about $1. Now, if you have decent traffic on your blog which buys the eBook then they have a certain connection to your blog. If 10 people buy the Affiliate product from your blog then you make around $10. But out of those 10, even 5 people buy your product then you would make around $50.
See the difference?
Quite a big right.
This is the importance of selling your own products and making a big income.
Keep one thing in mind that never start selling your own products before starting with affiliate marketing. You will fail miserably and no one is going to buy your products without any trust.
Make sure you drive some traffic first and then try and make some money.
Exchange of services.
This is a little tricky business. If you are a travel blogger then you can exchange your services with the hotels/hostels by showing them your blog. They will allow you to stay free in exchange for an article or two.
This is great and works perfectly fine for me. Anyway, I am going to spend the money on hostels then why not get a free stay instead.
According to your field, you can exchange services and get something free from them.
These are the basic ways for you to make money from your blog/website.

The way they have crafted this course is really commendable. The most important thing about any course is the way of teaching. Not a single section in this course is such, that you won’t understand any part of it. It is perfect for those who want to get initial traffic on their blog and even earn their first dollar.
Who should take this course?
Beginners bloggers who have just started their blogs.
Bloggers struggling with different strategies for getting initial traffic on their site.
Bloggers those who have their blogs out for a certain amount of time, but are unable to earn any money.
